We drive too much, we don’t walk enough, and all the efforts at behaviour change have been in vain

According to this analysis of the UK National Travel Survey.

Perhaps this might spark a re-think of all the effort that goes into behaviour change. Exhortation, and even better information, have not done much to change the key trends. Particularly noticeable with the school run – more people are driving their kids to school, despite all the campaigns to persuade them otherwise.

If you want to get people out of their cars – and since we are worried about traffic congestion, pollution, climate change and obesity I presume we do – you need to make it less nice for them to be in them.
